Rocking Horse Crèche & Pre-School is dedicated to ensuring your children learn and develop in a fun and exciting way.

Curriculum

Rocking Horse Crèche & Pre-School follows the Aistear Síolta curriculum for learning and development. This involves utilising Aistear: the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework (2009a) and Síolta, The National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education (2006) in unison in order to develop a well-rounded curriculum. Aistear Síolta focuses on learning in an active way incorporating the surrounding environment. We focus on multiple learning areas including arts & crafts, culture, music and more.

Our aim is to provide the opportunities for your child to learn in a fun way and to help them develop and to become confident in their own ability to succeed. This is accomplished through free play and structured activities that are specific to the learning goals of each child helping them to reach their full potential.

Education Schemes

Rocking Horse Crèche & Pre-School proudly take part in the National Childcare Scheme (NCS).

The National Childcare Scheme (NCS) The NCS has two parts. The first part Universal which is available to all families with children under three who have not qualified for the Free Preschool Program, (ECCE). This subsidy provides 50 cents per hour towards the cost of registered childcare to a maximum of 40hrs per week

The second part is income assessed and is available to families with children from 24wks to 15yrs of age. This subsidy is means tested and is calculated based on your individual circumstances. The maximum rate is payable for family income is under 26,000 after deductions. Eg. For a family with a 2yr old child with a reckonable income 32,500 a year the subsidy would be 3.61 euro per hour which amounts to 144 euro a week which would be nearly 80% of your childcare weekly fees.

At Rocking Horse Crèche & Pre-School we provide a safe and stable environment for children when their parents are otherwise busy. We encourage parents to share information with us about their child’s interests, what they are good at and what they may help with, to work with us to provide the best quality care and education for their child. We also encourage parents to come along for day trips, plays and graduation ceremonies throughout the year.

Enrolment

Due to our excellent facilities and focus on individual attention spaces at Rocking Horse Crèche & Pre-School can fill up quickly. As our crèche only accommodates up to 20 children we recommend calling us in advance with enrolment enquiries in order to avoid disappointment.
